West Dorset District Council

West Dorset District Council has launched a major scheme to help residents and businesses during the recession. It has published a leaflet that includes information about services and support.

Council Leader Councillor Robert Gould said: "The current economic climate is proving tough on many local businesses and residents. We are committed to supporting the district through this difficult time and have launched this campaign to raise awareness of our services. We are urging local residents and businesses to make the most of our services to help them cope with the current economic crisis. We want to make sure that people get the benefits and advice they are entitled to."

The leaflet is available from council offices, libraries and parish and town councils. It contains information about housing, benefits, leisure and travel and useful information for local businesses. There is also information and contact details for other useful organisations.
