Ashridge Virtual Learning Resource Centre
This resource helps you develop as a manager and leader. Access a range of development materials through our specially-designed tool for leadership competencies, covering the LG Improvement and Development political skills framework and managerial leadership skills.

What is it?
We have partnered with leading business school Ashridge to help you with your personal professional development. Together, we provide a learning tool for political and managerial leadership that filters the Ashridge resource according to 10 key LG Improvement and Development leadership competencies. The resource contains:
- approximately 60 learning guides, providing in-depth training in professional issues from action learning to writing business plans
- more than 60 management pocket books, providing easily-digestible information on issues from assertiveness to working in virtual teams
- over 130 in-depth book reviews, summarising aspects of the latest management thinking and more besides
- 46 essays on leadership and management topics from Bloomsbury publishing.
The Ashridge Journal
Ashridge publishes a quarterly journal containing the latest thinking and research from the Ashridge faculty. The Autumn 2008 issue was a public sector special, with the lead article considering the need for competitive spirit in public sector management:
