About the event
LG Improvement and Development has partnered with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) to deliver a comprehensive training programme for commissioners and finance staff across the public sector.
Courses will increase awareness and understanding of the third sector, help improve engagement and enable greater access to specialist knowledge that will benefit the delivery of public services.
The initial day-long courses, aimed at commissioning organisations new to working with the third sector are now available. The courses will cover:
- the policy context for the national programme (strategy, key drivers, aims and objectives of phase 2)
- greater involvement and engagement: potential benefits and perceived barriers
- building relationships with the third sector
- keys to successful engagement, partnering, commissioning and service delivery
- research and analysis, promoting innovation, stimulating the market
- measuring outcomes and assessing impact
- accounting for social return and social value
- working within the EU procurement framework and other regulation
- joint commissioning and joint provision
- performance measurement; proportionality and materiality
- risk: assessment, management and mitigation.
The day will be interactive and case-study based to ensure the programme will be highly relevant and of real practical value to both senior officers involved in setting policy and finance and commissioning practitioners.
Who should attend?
Commissioners and finance officers (level 1).
