Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council
Dudley Council was rated as ‘fair’ as part of the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) in July 2002 and scored two out of a possible four points for performance management in its corporate assessment.

This case study illustrates several developments at Dudley, including developing performance management, customer service and customer feedback; using a performance management software to develop more robust performance measurment, and developing information systems in support of performance management. This case study also includes information about a new partnership evaluation tool (PET) which helps Dudley evaluate the effectiveness and contribution of partnership working.
This case study outlines the progress on performance management that took place at Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council before and during the Performance Management, Measurement and Information (PMMI) project action research programme. The action research programme brought together eight local authorities that were focused on improving their performance management to provide mutual support and challenge as well as to develop and share a greater understanding about how local authorities go about improving performance management.
