Development programmes

Our development programmes for councillors and managers have been created specifically to meet the needs of people in local government. Courses range from the prestigious Leadership Academy programmes for leading councillors, to the Academy for Executive Leadership for chief executives, directors and heads of service.

What's new – IDeA leadership development refresh

The IDeA is currently reviewing its leadership development activity. As part of this, we have produced a draft leadership strategy which aims to capture the needs of the sector and ensure that our leadership development activity continues to meet these needs.

  • Democratic services committee administration

    13 to 18 September 2009
    This is the only national course of its kind for local government democratic services and committee staff. The course is in two parts: a short distance learning component followed by the week-long residential course.
